St. James Healthcare's Services and Expertise
-
Orthopedic Center of Excellence: St. James' Orthopedic Center of Excellence is a collaborative effort between St. James Healthcare and Montana Orthopedics. The center provides high-quality, innovative, patient-focused services in the areas of joint replacement surgery, trauma surgery, spine surgery and sports medicine.
- Cardiac Services: St. James' Cardiovascular Services emphasize communication and coordination that allow the cardiovascular team to provide patients with the highest level of care while remaining in Butte. Services range from non-invasive testing such as EKGs and stress testing; echocardiograms that include transesophageal echocardiograms; diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations; pacemakers and defibrillators; and an outstanding cardiac rehab and medical exercise program.
- Oncology Services: St. James' Cancer Care Center is a newly integrated cancer treatment center housing Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology (chemotherapy), and Laboratory services in one central location. This physically integrated center promotes a team approach to cancer treatment in a healing environment.
- Other Services: St. James houses state-of-the-art surgical suites, a beautiful labor and delivery unit, and a 24-hour, physician-staffed Emergency Department.
- Healing Environment: In February 2008, all patient rooms were converted into private suites. With this arrangement, St. James met its goal to create a quiet, healing environment for patients.
St. James Healthcare was established by five Sisters of Charity in 1881 to care for individuals who worked in the copper mines.
